Eat right, reduce stress, boost your immune system, and toughen your body with antioxidants to protect yourself against colds. It’s not just the cold weather that make us notice that it is winter. On trains, buses, supermarkets and shopping centers people are coughing frequently this time of year. Nobody has neither the desire or time to be sick. Good meat – contains zinc, iron and essential amino acids that strengthen your blood. Meat gives you the full proteins that are good for muscle building. The protein has a lower energy value than carbohydrates and also gives you a longer sense of satiety.
Ginger – Seems bactericidal. Works both in preventive and relief when you’ve already caught a cold. Tear down the food or make hot ginger tea. Mix in lemon juice or orange. For a little sweetness, stir in a teaspoon of honey. Both good and useful.
Salmon – Contains Omega -3, which is said to lower blood fats and blood pressure, maintain blood vessel elasticity (good for blood circulation) and protects against cardiovascular disease. Omega -3 also lubricates the skin from the inside which is especially good now that it is cold and dry. It provides strong and soft lining.
Beetroot – contains vitamin C and folic acid is good for cell formation. They are very rich in fiber which is good for the digestive function.
Garlic – has long been known as a healing spice that is anti-inflammatory. It also stimulates production of white blood cells that are our soldiers when we get sick. Revel in garlic.
